Harbor Law Group Blog

Proactive vs. Reactive ClientsGenerally speaking, there are two types of clients in this world – let’s call them “Proactive Clients” and “Reactive Clients.” Our Proactive Clients are those that come to us seeking legal advice on a particular matter before immediate action is necessary. Proactive Clients work to diffuse the minefield of potential legal problems in front of them one by one. They contact us at The Harbor Law Group with a particular issue in mind and work with us to craft a solution that minimizes (or ideally eliminates) future legal or financial exposure.

Our Reactive Clients confront their legal issues when they blow up. Reactive Clients are well intending and often want to plan for future legal contingencies but do not take the time to do so. They have a long list of legal “to-do” items that only grows as the days go on.

Usually when a Reactive Client comes to The Harbor Law Group with a legal fire, it is very time consuming and expensive to fight. Often times Reactive Clients could have protected themselves from ensuing liability if certain safeguards were put in place before a conflict arose.

Many of our blogs are intended to focus on the small and mid-size business owner on areas where expending a little time and effort up front can save a lot of stress and expense later.
