Attorney Mary C. Casey

Mary C. Casey founded The Harbor Law Group in 1997 following admittance to the Massachusetts Bar and a distinguished career in management in the fields of high technology and biology.

Attorney Casey’s client list includes many companies that are becoming catalysts for economic development and job creation for the biotechnology and medical device industries in Central Massachusetts.  They include companies involved in providing specialized contract services in the biological, life science and pharmaceutical fields, scientific research, development and manufacture of diagnostic and drug discovery products, medical and dental devices, medical software applications, computer engineering, data mining etc.

In addition to representing companies in the Central Massachusetts area, Attorney Casey provides intellectual property services to clients around the country.
 
Attorney Casey brings over 22 years of senior level technical and management experience in biomedical research, medical and bio-electronic device design and fiber optic and computer technology.  The combination of technical hands-on experience and legal expertise gives Attorney Casey a unique understanding of her client’s business issues and needs and makes her an effective counselor.   Attorney Casey holds a law degree from Suffolk Law School, a degree in Biology and Chemistry from Worcester State College and a degree in Electrical Engineering from Penn State.

Attorney Casey is also an educator, published author and public speaker, and has established a significant presence in the legal field.  She has been quoted in The Wall Street Journal, and lectures regularly to various groups and audiences on various aspects of law.  She has served on the Scientific Advisory Board of MBIdeas, a Worcester company that is a major incubator, supporting the growth and expansion of new biotechnology and medical device companies.  She is an active member of professional groups, including the WPI Venture Forum, the Worcester Bar Association, the Boston Bar Association, and is the current Intellectual Property Chair of the Worcester County Bar Association.
